OECD Consultation: Training and Capacity Building Needs on Supply Chain Due Diligence
Organized by:
  • Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development

Please note this session is for business representatives only. Separate registration is required.

Background

Supply chain due diligence is firmly on the global policy agenda. All international instruments on responsible business conduct (RBC) – the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on RBC, the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for RBC as well as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles Concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy – recommend due diligence as the framework for companies to address adverse impacts in their own operations and in their global supply chains. The recommendations for business contained in these instruments have guided government action to enable and promote RBC and sustainable supply chains, and much of the emerging due diligence legislation, including the new EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence.

Objective

The purpose of this session is to understand learning needs and priorities of business representatives when it comes to supply chain due diligence in practice. What training, capacity building and tools needs do you have for your own operations? What needs do you see when engaging with suppliers in your supply chains?

Outcome

The outcomes of this consultation will feed into a multi-year project to build awareness and understanding of supply chain due diligence and aim to increase the capacity of supply chain actors for due diligence implementation. Your help in defining priorities is important and much appreciated!
