Background

The impact of business activities on human rights can be positive or adverse. Human rights defenders interact with business in a wide range of ways, including constructive engagement, cooperation, confrontation, and campaigned for businesses to operate in ways consistent with human rights standards.

 

UNDP, Rafto Foundation, and the Institute for Human Rights and Business will present an interactive workshop over four days, with attendees who are human rights defenders from the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Faculty will include corporate practitioners, human rights defenders, academics, and other advocates covering a range of topics, including strategies and approaches, routes to remedy, grievance mechanism, litigation as a strategy, building trust, staying safe online, and researching companies.
